Redberry Biosphere

The core area of the biosphere is Redberry Lake itself. Its mandate is to protect native species, landscapes, and ecosystems. In 1915 it became a migratory bird sanctuary and is presently home to nesting colonies of the American Pelican.

In 2000 the entire Redberry Lake Watershed received designation as a World Biosphere Reserve. The area boasts a research and education center which contains information on local history, information about the biosphere, as well as various historical data. Location: Redberry Regional Park, 11 Kilometers East of Hafford.
