Borden

The Borden Friendship Club is a great group to get out and socialize with.  We have over 90 members, and our membership fees are $15.00 per year.

 

Meetings are held monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 2 pm, except in July and August.

 

Forever in Motion classes are held 2 - 3 times per week, free for anyone to participate in.

 

During the winter we host monthly bingos.  Some of the proceeds from bingo have been used to subsidize an outing for our members, for example, an evening at a dinner theatre.  We also host Kaiser tournaments.

 

There is a potluck supper once a month, with entertainment and birthday cake.

 

Once a year we invite other local Seniors' Clubs for supper and entertainment.  We also enjoy attending such events at our neighbouring clubs.

 

Our members help with many projects in the Community, either by financial donations or by giving of our time.  We sponsor the Beautiful Beautification Committee and have made donations to the Fire Department, First Responders, Borden Care Home, Action Bowl, Busy Bees Preschool, Borden Community Center Preservation Committee, and the Little Sprouts Day Care, to name a few.  We also have been sponsoring children in Mombasa through SOS Children's Villages.

 

The Club Room is available for rent for any Community or Family Events.  Our club members are able to rent it at a reduced rate for family gatherings.

 

We have been fortunate to receive grants which have been used for many upgrades to our Friendship Room, for bus tours and entertainment. 

 

We always welcome new members, just stop by at a meeting or at a potluck supper and see what we are all about.
