How Can Residents Participate in Council Decisions?
Residents are encouraged to participate in Council decision-making and provide input on matters that affect the community. There are several ways to share your views with Council:
Ways to Participate
You may participate by:

Attending and speaking at public hearings related to bylaws, rezoning applications, and other significant decisions

Making a presentation at a Council meeting regarding a project, report, or recommendation before Council

Submitting written comments or submissions on proposed bylaws, reports, or community issues

Writing to Council about matters of concern or interest
Delegations to Council Meetings
Delegations to Council meetings are welcome and encouraged. Delegations allow individuals or groups to formally present information, ideas, or concerns directly to Council.
To ensure meetings run efficiently and that delegations are properly considered, the following procedure applies.
Delegation Application Procedure

A written request must be received by the Village Office no later than noon on the Thursday prior to the Council meeting

Council will accept up to two delegations per regular Council meeting

The request must include:

The topic to be addressed

The name of the primary spokesperson

A brief written overview of the presentation

The Village Office will notify the applicant of the scheduled date and time for the delegation
Please note that, as Council meetings are open to the public, all delegation requests and written submissions are considered public documents.
