Custom Work & Service Rates

The Village of Borden offers a limited range of custom work and services to residents when equipment, staff availability, and operational priorities allow.

These services are intended to support residents with minor, non-emergency tasks and are provided at Council-approved rates to recover municipal costs. Custom work is secondary to core municipal responsibilities and may not always be immediately available.

What Is Custom Work?

Custom work refers to services provided by the Village using municipal equipment and staff outside of regular municipal operations, such as:

  • Driveway snow clearing

  • Gravel hauling or placement

  • Sanding

  • Minor hauling assistance

  • Water hauling (where applicable)

  • Property-related services listed in the rate table below

Availability depends on weather conditions, staffing, equipment scheduling, and municipal priorities.

Important Notes Before Requesting Service

  • All custom work is subject to availability and is scheduled at the discretion of the Village.

  • Municipal operations, emergency response, and essential services always take priority.

  • Requests may be delayed or declined during peak seasons (e.g. winter snow events, spring road work).

  • Minimum charges apply as shown in the rate table.

  • Rates are approved by Council and are subject to change.

Residents are encouraged to contact the Village Office in advance to confirm availability, pricing, and scheduling.

Water Hauling Services

Water hauling services are available at different rates for rate payers and non-rate payers, as shown in the table.

Water hauling prices are based on approximately 2,500 gallons per load. Please contact the Village Office for additional details or special requests.

Billing & Payment

  • Charges are based on the minimum fee or hourly rate, whichever applies

  • Additional charges may apply based on time, materials, or product used

  • Invoices are issued by the Village and must be paid in accordance with municipal payment policies

**Please note: As of January 1, 2026, sewer line maintenance will no longer be offered by the Village.
