Parks & Recreation
The Borden Parks & Recreation Board is responsible for the planning, development, and fundraising efforts that support Borden Memorial Park. Governed by the Village of Borden, the Board works with a long-term vision for the park’s future and welcomes ideas, feedback, and community involvement as that vision continues to evolve.
Building a Park for Everyone
Over the years, Parks & Recreation has led a number of major improvements, including:
-
3.5 km walking trail installed in 2012, creating a scenic and accessible way to enjoy the park
-
Home run fencing at both ball diamonds, made possible through community donations
-
Tree planting behind the ball diamonds, creating shade, wind protection, and a beautifully defined park space
-
Disc golf course, designed in 2015 with assistance from Escape Sports, beginning near the skating rink and extending behind the ball diamonds
-
Modern playground structure, installed in 2017 with support from a Canada 150 grant covering 50% of the project cost, now a highlight of the park for families
Looking Ahead
Future plans include:
-
Construction of an outdoor event centre that incorporates the canteen
-
A pedestrian bridge over Shepard’s Creek, which would connect sections of the walking trail and shorten travel distances within the park
Get Involved
The Board is actively seeking both Board Members and Associate Members:

Both roles play an important part in shaping the future of Borden Memorial Park.
